Scriptural Pursuit is a 30-minute weekly program with a three-member panel discussing the Bible based on the adult Sabbath School lesson topics. The program is produced by the Communications Department of Andrews University in the studio of International Learning Systems with AU student, staff volunteers, and community volunteers. Many communication major assist with production as camera operators, teleprompter operators, engineers, production assistants and editors.
Scriptural Pursuit began in the mid-1980s as an hour-long radio program hosted by Allen Steele on WAUS-FM. Then, Andrew University graduate students and staff continued the program including James Russell who co-hosted with his son, current host, Pastor Glenn Russell. Passionate about ministry, missions, and evangelism, Pastor Russell teaches classes in preaching, pastoral ministry, youth ministry, God and human life, world religions, and missions. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Religion at Andrews University and has received a Masters of Divinity from the University’s Theological Seminary and completed his doctoral class work at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago. He has led hundreds of students on mission trips and evangelistic series around the world. Presently, he conducts annual mission trips to Honduras and the Middle East and is working on his doctoral project with his focus being on short-term missions of collegiate students
